May was a month to remember at Prime Tobacconist! We truly sprang into spring with a lineup of exciting events and community involvement that brought people together and embodied the spirit of Prime Vibes. From hosting our 8th unforgettable cigar dinner to supporting a local fundraising event off-premise and collecting generous donations for the Milford Food Pantry, May was filled with connection, celebration, and giving back. Keep reading for all the highlights and a look at what made this month so special at your favorite Milford cigar lounge!

Dunbarton Derby Day

The excitement of the Kentucky Derby was brought to Prime Tobacconist with our Dunbarton Derby Day Soirée, and it was nothing short of a winner! Guests enjoyed a unique twist on race day, combining the thrill of the track with the bold flavor profiles of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust cigars. Cigar lovers picked up our exclusive six-cigar sampler featuring standouts like Sobremesa, Sin Compromiso, Umbagog, Mi Querida, Mi Querida Trique Traca, and the limited edition Year of the Duque. Each purchase came with a randomly drawn number corresponding to one of the Derby horses—and when the race was run, one lucky guest walked away with the coveted Guillotina de Saka cigar cutter, a luxurious accessory valued at $350! With great cigars, friendly competition, and a lively lounge atmosphere, the Dunbarton Derby Day was a true celebration of Prime Vibes.

Mystery Pack Samplers Benefitting the Milford Food Bank

This month, we also introduced a new way for our customers to discover premium cigars and give back to the community with our limited edition Mystery Sampler Packs. We were so happy to receive such an incredible response from our customers! Each grab-and-go pack featured 5 or 6 hand-selected cigars from top brands, offering a value of over $50 for just $32.50. These mystery packs weren’t just a great deal, they were a way to do good. With $5 from every purchase donated directly to the Milford Food Bank, our customers helped us raise funds to support local families in need, all while enjoying new cigars. We still have some Mystery Sampler Packs available in-store and in our online shop, so be sure to grab yours before they're gone!

Private Event: Firebirds Society of Greater New Haven Scholarship Dinner

Did you know that in addition to all of the events we host at Prime Tobacconist, we're also available for off-site private events, weddings, celebrations, and more? This month, we were glad to be a part of the Firebirds Society of Greater New Haven 2025 Scholarship Dinner, hosted at Amarate's Sea Cliff. Our cigar selection was a hit among the parents, and we loved meeting so many new people who have since come to enjoy the lounge at Prime Tobacconist.

AVO Cigar Dinner

We kicked off Memorial Day Weekend in true Prime style with our AVO Cigar Dinner, and it was certainly an evening (and meal!) to remember. Guests gathered for an unforgettable night of premium cigars, expertly crafted cuisine, and warm camaraderie as we celebrated the smooth sophistication of AVO cigars. Attendees received three hand-selected AVO cigars, known for their creamy complexity and impeccable balance, making them a standout choice for both seasoned smokers and newcomers alike. The 3-course dinner, provided by Lobo Reys Kitchen, was a culinary highlight of the evening. From the savory Tostones Rellenos and show-stopping Chuleta Kan-Kan, to the creative and decadent Bacon Cup Ice Cream Shots, each course delivered bold flavors that perfectly complemented the cigars. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this sold-out event. Whether you were able to attend this dinner or hope to snag a ticket to the next one, save the date for our Father's Day Cigar Dinner on June 19, 2025 (we'll be releasing more event information and ticket details soon!).

This Friday, we're kicking off the weekend with the Emily Mager Duo at Prime Tobacconist! Known for her soulful voice and heartfelt performances, Emily blends contemporary and classic styles that pair perfectly with a fine cigar and a relaxing atmosphere.
